Flu season is just around the corner 💉

From the 1st of April 2026, flu vaccines will be available at Cardrona Doctors, alongside COVID-19 vaccinations (subject to availability).

Appointments are open for both enrolled and casual patients - a simple way to help protect yourself and those around you this winter.

What a weekend at Challenge Wānaka! 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️💚

So proud of our Cardrona Doctors crew who swapped consult rooms for the course and took on the swim, bike and run. Anu, Josh and Katie made us incredibly proud!

Challenge Wānaka is almost here! 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♂️

As the training ramps up, don’t ignore those pre-race niggles - if something isn’t feeling right, it’s worth getting it checked before race day. A quick review now can help you line up feeling confident and prepared.

Remember the basics too: hydrate well, fuel properly, rest up, and listen to your body. Pushing yourself is part of the challenge… but so is taking care of yourself.

We’re especially excited this year as we have a Cardrona Doctors team competing 💚 We’ll be out there alongside you and cheering everyone on!

Prescription length changes from 1 February 2026 📅

From 1 February 2026, some patients may be eligible for longer prescriptions (up to 12 months), where this is clinically safe and appropriate.

Not all medicines or conditions will be included. Decisions will always be made by the prescribing clinician, with your health and safety as the priority. Prescriptions will continue to be collected from your pharmacy in maximum 3-monthly instalments (early or extended supplies are not permitted).

Please take a look through the slides for more detail. To find out whether this option may be suitable for you, we recommend booking a dedicated appointment with your GP.

As we head into the holiday period, our clinic will be closed for a few days and will re-open from the 29th to 31st December.
