Here's the statistic almost nobody is talking about...
1 in 5 people who died by euthanasia last year had not received palliative care.

Yet the Ministry of Health's own report records cases where people withdrew their euthanasia requests after receiving palliative care and additional support.
When suffering is met with care, people can change their minds.

New Zealand doesn't need easier access to euthanasia.
It needs universal access to outstanding palliative care.
