A case for violation of RA 10175 or the "Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012″ was already filed against an active PNP member before the Regional Trial Court Branch 5, Legazpi City on May 18, 2023, who was caught red-handed of claiming fraudulently loaned money from the PSSLAI.
The entrapment operation was launched by the joint operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 5 headed by PCOL DENNIS R RELLATA, Chief, RACU 5 together with the Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP IMEG) under the supervision of PMAJ JORDEN V GUTAY around 8:00AM of May 17, 2023.
Suspect was identified as Pat Gabriel Q Fillone, a resident of Brgy Ilaya, Balud, Masbate and currently assigned at the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 5.
Initial investigation disclosed that subject person started to process his loan application on May 11, 2023 via online using fake Facebook account under the name of another PNP personnel along with counterfeited personal documents, forged signature as part of the requirements in securing the loan.
PSSLAI in close collaboration with RACU 5 and IMEG purposely processed the respondent’s loan application and issued a confirmation sheet. On the May 17, 2023 subject person encashed the amount at MLhuiller Daraga Branch by presenting the confirmation sheet and a fake identification card of the victim.
Seized from his possession and control was the fake PRC of alyas “Kelvin”, the victim; cellphone; 1 issued M16 Elisco Rifle with SN: RP158095; 5 long magazines; bandolier; and 131 pcs of 5.56 caliber ammunition.
