Chapter Annual Family Day

The Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers - Negros Occidental Chapter held its Annual Family Day on May 17, 2026 at La Vista J & E Private Resort.

The whole day activity was attended by Chapter officers, past presidents members and ladies circle and their families who gather to enjoy the festive atmosphere and venue where each family brought their share of mouthwatering foods.

This annual Family Day is also a respite from work and to enjoy the summer season. Just like every year, this gathering is one of the most memorable stress-relieving activities of the chapter.

The Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) - Negros Occidental Chapter in coordination with the Professional Regulation Commission ( PRC) Region VI conducted the face to face Oath taking Ceremony of the New Professional Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and Certified Plant Mechanics on May 3, 2026 at the Convention Hall of Acacia Hotel, Bacolod City.

There were 179 new professionals who formally took their oath which consist of 6 Professional Mechanical Engineers, 172 Mechanical Engineers and 1 Certified Plant Mechanic. Officers and Past Presidents of the PSME - Negros Occidental Chapter, deans and representatives of the different engineering schools in Negros Occidental along with the parents and loved ones of the oath takers gathered to witness the memorable and significant event.

Hon. Ramon F. Solis, member of the Professional Regulatory Board of Mechanical Engineering was the Keynote Speaker and also administered the Oath of Professionals. Mr. Brian Demegillo of PRC Region VI congratulated the new professionals in behalf of Regional Director Rommel Balisang of PRC RO VI.

PSME - Negros Occidental Chapter awarded a Certificate of Recognition to the Technological University of the Philippines - Visayas ( TUPV ) for having ranked 2nd Top Performing school in the February 2026 Licensure Examination for Mechanical Engineers.

Engr. Ronnie D. Maligmat, the PSME National Vice-President for Visayas inducted the new members and welcome them to PSME, the PRC Accredited Integrated Professional Organization (AIPO) of Mechanical Engineers and Certified Plant Mechanics.
