Homeless individuals are human beings just like you and me. Many have simply fallen on hard times, and living on only scraps or stale food isn't any more acceptable for them than it would be for anyone else. They deserve to experience the same basic dignity and enjoyment that food can bring. So when you share, offer something fresh and wholesome—something you'd be happy to receive yourself. Many of them once had lives like ours; they understand the difference between fresh meals and discarded leftovers. Take a moment to sit with them, talk to them with respect, and listen to their stories. We can learn a lot from their experiences and hardships. Let’s show them the respect and acceptance we all hope to receive. Give with empathy and thoughtfulness, offering what you yourself would appreciate.
