I am a writer, my love. I don’t cry. I bleed on paper.
In English, we say, "Are you okay?"
But in poetry, we say, "I see the weight you’re carrying, the storms you’re weathering in silence. Tell me, where does it hurt, and how can I help you heal?"
Not all battles are ours to fight, and not every external stimulus deserves the sanctuary of our inner peace. The essence lies in recognizing that selective disengagement is not apathy but an act of safeguarding one’s mental and emotional space. A call to practice discernment, to let go of the reflex to internalize every slight, every judgment, and every chaos that is not ours to carry. To reclaim agency over our energy and emotional bandwidth, recognizing that self-care often requires.
