Well, this connection is like a double edged sword. 𝗖𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲, in an inarguable sense, plays a pivotal role in the economic development of many nations, but at the same time, looks for trouble with 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬—pollution, toxic waste, greenhouse gases that fuel climate change—you name it!

On the other hand, chemistry is also the antidote to these problems. With the continuous technological advancements, we are not too far away from developing “cleaner”technologies, sustainable energy sources, and eco-friendly materials. Pollutants can be broken down, renewable resources is possible, and balance to our environment will be restored.

While chemistry has contributed to environmental challenges, we can also use it to overcome them, making it both a villain and a hero in the fight for a healthier planet…because it’s not yet too late. 𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵.

Environmental issues, such as polluted air and water, have become everyday realities, with both human activities and natural phenomenas contributing to disasters that harm biodiversity and disrupt communities. These circumstances can be transparently observed in our home country, the Philippines, as a tropical area where gustiness and wind signal always meet. However, we, the Filipinos, are still in full commitment and popularly known for our resiliency in the face of calamities. All of us have repeatedly demonstrated an unparalleled ability to rise above calamity with courage and unwavering unity (Resilient PH, 2024).

However, is being resilient enough to shelter and foster our one and only home?

A universal dimension built along the creative and informative infographics to promote the different United Nation’s sustainable development goals (SDGs) and preventive measures that you and me can do to regain, reclaim and sustain the healthy environment we once lived in. Resiliency is valuable for survival, but it should not be used as an excuse for exploiting or mistreating nature. Only then can we truly value our planet earth.
