BONTOC, MOUNTAIN PROVINCE – October 21, 2024 – Mountain Province State University (MPSU) has launched "Weaving our Strengths: A Celebration of Indigenous Culture and Mental Wellbeing," a program honoring Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month and Mental Health Awareness Month. The celebration kicked off with a vibrant display of sidewalk chalk art and the start of "Cultural and Mental Health Hours," offering a diverse range of activities designed to promote cultural appreciation and mental wellbeing.

Students, faculty, and staff came together to transform the university pavements into colorful canvases showcasing the rich tapestry of indigenous culture and promoting mental health awareness. This interactive exhibit, "Sidewalk Chalk Art: Paint the Pavement with Culture and Hope!," will continue daily from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, October 21-25th, at the MPSU Admin Lobby sidewalk.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, MPSU is hosting "Cultural and Mental Health Hours: Shake Your Sillies Out!" every day from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the MPSU Admin Lobby. This initiative offers a fun and revitalizing way to engage with indigenous culture and prioritize mental health. Participants can learn basic steps of indigenous dances on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and enjoy karaoke sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
