CLASS ADVISORY

The suspension of classes in the Municipality of Capalonga is officially LIFTED.

Regular classes will resume tomorrow, November 27, 2025.
We encourage all students to prepare accordingly and stay safe as we return to normal school operations.

Classes suspension in all levels both private and public will still be in effect tomorrow, November 26, 2025 due to the continued effects of the shearline and Tropical Depression Verbena. Suspension will remain in effect until officially lifted.

Students and parents are advised to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel as heavy rains and strong winds are still expected.

“VERBENA” INTENSIFIES INTO A TROPICAL STORM AS IT CONTINUES TO APPROACH THE CALAMIAN ISLANDS AND NORTHERN MAINLAND PALAWAN.
Location of Center (7:00 PM):
The center of Tropical Storm VERBENA was estimated based on all available data over the coastal waters of Linapacan, Palawan (11.0°N, 120.4°E).
Intensity:
Maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 80 km/h, and central pressure of 996 hPa.
Present Movement:
West northwestward at 20 km/h
Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds:
Strong to gale-force winds extend outwards up to 250 km from the center

Antique and the northwestern portion of Aklan (Malay, Buruanga, Nabas)

Severe Winds
The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction.
• Minimal to moderate impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 2.
• Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1.
Furthermore, the surge of Northeast Monsoon and VERBENA will also bring gusty conditions reaching strong to gale-force strength over the following areas not under Wind Signal (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):
• Today: Luzon, Western Visayas, Negros Occidental, Northern Samar, Samar, and Biliran
• Tomorrow (26 November): Luzon, Antique, Aklan, Capiz, and Camarines Norte
• Thursday (27 November): Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Lubang Island, and Palawan.

24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook
Up to very rough seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 6.0 m: The seaboards of Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur.
• Up to 5.0 m: The seaboards of Kalayaan Islands; the northern seaboard of mainland Cagayan
• Up to 4.5 m: The remaining seaboards of Ilocos Region and mainland Cagayan
• Sea travel is risky for all types or tonnage of vessels. All mariners must remain in port or, if underway, seek shelter or safe harbor as soon as possible until winds and waves subside.
Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 4.0 m: The seaboards of Isabela, Aurora, and northern mainland Quezon; the western seaboards of northern mainland Palawan and Calamian Islands; the northern and eastern seaboards of Polillo Islands.
• Up to 3.5 m: The seaboards of Camarines Norte, Antique, and Cuyo Islands; the western seaboard of Zambales; the western and southern seaboards of Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Islands; the southern seaboard of Oriental Mindoro; the northern and eastern seaboards of Catanduanes; the remaining seaboards of northern mainland Palawan and Calamian Islands.
• Up to 3.0 m: The western seaboard of Bataan; the eastern seaboards of Albay, Sorsogon, Eastern Samar and Dinagat Islands, the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Samar, Siargao-Bucas Grande Islands.
• Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced of operating ill-equipped vessels.
Up to moderate to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 2.5 m: The seaboards of Marinduque, Romblon, Aklan, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Occidental; the eastern seaboards of Oriental Mindoro, Camarines Sur, and Davao Oriental; the western seaboards of Masbate, Negros Occidental and the rest of Palawan; the southern seaboard of Iloilo; the western and southern seaboards of Guimaras; the remaining seaboards of Quezon and Catanduanes.
• Up to 2.0 m: The seaboard of Batangas; the remaining seaboards of Occidental Mindoro and Oriental Mindoro.
• Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
• It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone.
• VERBENA will move west northwestward over Sulu Sea and make landfall over the northern portion of Palawan tonight. It will then emerge over the West Philippine Sea tomorrow (26 November) early morning. Afterwards, VERBENA will pass north of Kalayaan Islands tomorrow evening, exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday (27 November) early morning, and turn west southwestward from Thursday until Friday (28 November) morning.
• VERBENA may reach severe tropical storm category as early as tomorrow and will continue to intensify until Thursday due to favorable environment. Afterwards, a weakening trend may occur due to the effect of the surge of the Northeast Monsoon.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.

Due to the latest weather advisory from DOST‑PAGASA indicating that a low-pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, and given that its trough will affect the rest of the Bicol Region, including Camarines Norte, with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms expected tomorrow, classes at all levels in Capalonga hereby suspended for tomorrow, November 25, 2025

Students and residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel as the tropical depression is expected to bring heavy rains and strong winds.

Thunderstorm Advisory No. 01 SLPRSD
Issued at 6:20 AM 23 NOVEMBER 2025
Moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in (Labo, StaElena, Capalonga, JosePanganiban) which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.
All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides.
