18 years of “wala lang ’to.” 😂🤍

Being a preemie mom came with a kind of worry I wasn’t prepared for. 💙

My son was born at 33 weeks and has stayed in the NICU for 3 weeks. We used his corrected age when looking at his development, which is recommended for preterm babies during the first 2 years.

Now that he’s getting close to 2, I realized how much time I spent wondering, “Is he keeping up? Is he going to be okay?”

And looking at him now… the answer is yes. And more. 🥹

Eventually, I learned to ask a different question:

“Who is he becoming?” 🥹

These are 6 things I wish someone had told me when he was a newborn—things I learned along the way as I figured out how to be a mom to a baby who arrived earlier than we expected.

If you’re a first-time preemie mom, I hope at least one of these reminds you to give yourself—and your baby—a little more grace. 🤍
