PNP ARRESTS MOST WANTED IN BULACAN DOUBLE MURDER CASE IN CAVITE MANHUNT

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a 45-year-old male listed among the most wanted persons for two counts of murder during a manhunt operation at around 11:00 AM on April 10, 2026, in Brgy. Marulas, Kawit, Cavite.

The accused, a resident of Navotas City, was apprehended by the Tracker Team of the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit, in coordination with the Bulacan 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Malolos City Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division 3, Regional Special Operations Group 3, Regional Intelligence Unit 3, and the Kawit Municipal Police Station of Cavite Police Provincial Office. The arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 11, City of Malolos, Bulacan, for two counts of murder without recommended bail.

The suspect is one of those linked to the killing of the Association of Barangay Captains President of Bulacan and his driver on October 3, 2024, in Brgy. Ligas, City of Malolos. While operatives were moving in to serve the warrant along Antero Soriano Highway, the accused attempted to flee using a motorcycle but collided with a police vehicle, causing damage before he was subdued and arrested.

The arrested individual was brought to the Bulacan PIU for documentation and proper disposition, while the warrant of arrest will be returned to the issuing court pending the issuance of a Commitment Order.

PGEN Nartatez Jr. underscored the firm stance of the PNP against violent offenders.
“This arrest reflects our sustained pressure against high-value fugitives. We will not allow those accused of serious crimes to remain at large,” he said.
“Walang pagtataguan ang mga may mabibigat na kaso. Sisiguraduhin naming maaabot sila ng batas,” he added.

This accomplishment aligns with the PNP Focused Agenda—a strategic direction of transformation designed to make police service more responsive and reliable—particularly in Enhanced Managing Police Operations, in the pursuit of wanted persons, a key priority directly reflected in this successful operation.

The PNP Chief also emphasized the importance of operational persistence.
“Our teams will continue to track down fugitives wherever they hide. Public safety demands consistent and decisive law enforcement action,” he stated.
“Patuloy ang aming operasyon laban sa mga kriminal upang mapanatili ang kaayusan sa ating mga komunidad,” he added.

As the PNP intensifies its operations against most wanted persons and strengthens efforts to bring offenders before the court under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it continues to assure the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”

PNP NABS FOREIGNERS IN ILLEGAL MINING CASE, ₱50.5M EQUIPMENT SEIZED

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., conducted a sustained anti-illegal mining operation from 9:00 PM of April 9, 2026 to 1:00 PM of April 10, 2026 at Carac-an downstream, Brgy. Lobo, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur, resulting in the arrest of nine Chinese nationals and one Filipino suspect and the confiscation of heavy equipment used in unlawful mining activities.

Operatives from the Regional Intelligence Division 13, led by and through the Tracker Intelligence and Protection unit of RIU13, in coordination with the DENR Regional Enforcement Division, carried out the operation that led to the apprehension of the suspects, now under the custody of Cantilan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. Authorities seized assorted heavy equipment with a total estimated value of PhP50,500,000.00, excluding additional mining paraphernalia, all of which were turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources for custody and appropriate action.

The operation underscores the firm and continuing stance of the PNP against environmental crimes, particularly illegal mining operations involving foreign nationals that threaten ecological sustainability and local livelihoods. Among the PNP’s Focused Agenda—an operational framework for institutional transformation—the priority on Enhanced Managing Police Operations is advanced through intensified intelligence-driven efforts and strengthened enforcement actions against high-value illegal activities.

“This operation underscores that any unauthorized extraction of our natural resources will be met with decisive law enforcement action, regardless of nationality. We will uphold environmental laws and ensure those responsible are held accountable,” said PGEN Nartatez.

“Hindi kami uurong sa laban kontra sa mga dayuhang lumalabag sa batas ng ating bansa. Pantay-pantay ang pagpapatupad ng batas, at mananagot ang sinumang mapapatunayang may sala,” he added.

The successful operation highlights the commitment of the PNP to curb illegal activities that undermine environmental protection and national interest. As the PNP strengthens its drive against environmental violations and transnational offenses under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it continues to assure the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”
