ISU-CC BA Political Science program of the School of Arts and Sciences, in partnership with the College of Education, has reached a significant milestone in its drive toward internationalization.
The departments hosted a specialized guest lecture featuring Dr. Robert Mikac from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, to deconstruct the shifting geopolitical landscape of the European Union and its implications for the Philippines.
The session focused on the critical internal and external pressures facing the EU, particularly regarding migration security and regulatory sovereignty.
A key highlight for the Political Science program was the comparative study of EU regulations and their potential application within the ASEAN framework. Students analyzed how European policy responses to regional crises could provide a technical roadmap for strengthening Southeast Asian cooperation and governance.
Beyond the academic discourse, the event opened doors for tangible international opportunities. Discussions were held regarding a potential student exchange program between the Philippines and Croatia, offering a concrete path for students to gain firsthand experience in European governance.
This initiative marks a decisive step in the BA Political Science programโs mission to move beyond theoretical learning, providing students with direct access to global academic networks and cross-border career opportunities.
