GOOD FRIDAY PRAYER

Father, thank you for sending your one and only Son. Thank you that we can have great hope, for death has lost its sting. We praise you for making all things new.

Jesus, thank you for your ultimate sacrifice. We remember today, the pain and suffering of the cross, and all that you were willing to endure, so we could be set free. You paid the price, such a great sacrifice, to offer us the gift of eternal life.

Spirit of God, help us never to take for granted the gift of love on our behalf. Help us to be reminded of the cost of it all and encourage us to keep our eyes focused on Jesus Christ, the only name that saves.

May we live our lives in ways that are worthy of Jesus’ sacrifice.
