Stakeholder Consultation to Strengthen Partnerships for Youth and Community Development

On May 16, 2025, the Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC) Maragusan Campus, through the Research and Development Section and the Extension Services Section, in collaboration with the Student Council and Organization Section, successfully conducted a stakeholder consultation between the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Poblacion Maragusan and Junior Chamber International (JCI) Pyagsawitan, Maragusan Chapter.
This initiative brought together key personnel from various local agencies, DDOSC teaching and non-teaching staff, alumni, student leaders, and community stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and promote youth engagement.

Among the distinguished attendees were Hon. Eufelo Anino, Barangay Poblacion Councilor and representative of JCI Maragusan Pyagsawitan; Hon. Armielle Gayoso, Chairperson for Education and Culture, External Linkages, Internationalization & Promotion of SK Poblacion; Ms. Crisamay Tabigue from the Municipal Planning and Development Office, LGU Maragusan; and members of the DDOSC Maragusan community.

Held at the RDEP Conference Room, the consultation aimed to gather valuable insights to support the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the involved partners.

Mr. Nick Alvin Asidoy, ESS Coordinator, opened the session by emphasizing the importance of stakeholder engagement and multi-sectoral partnerships. Ms. Sarah Jean A. Gerundio and Mr. Carlo Jay Seno presented the roles and responsibilities of each party based on the draft MOU/MOA. The forum also served as a platform for clarifying provisions and incorporating collective feedback to improve the agreements.

The event concluded with empowering words from Ms. Daryl Tabigue, Head of the Administrative and Finance Unit, DDOSC Maragusan.

This meaningful activity reflects the college’s commitment to fostering collaboration between academic institutions and youth organizations, laying the foundation for impactful research and extension initiatives that benefit the broader community.
