American Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, OSA is elected as the 267th Successor of St. Peter. He has taken the name Leo XIV. He was elevated to the Cardinalate by Pope Francis in 2023. He was Prefect of the Discatery of Bishops and a former General of the Augustinian order. Before Election as Pope, he was missionary and until the election, Bishop of Chiclayo in Peru.

Ipinamalas ng St. Matthew Parish ang isang pagninilay sa isinagawang Stations of the Cross ngayong Biyernes Santo, Abril 18, na nagsimula sa ganap na ika-7 ng umaga sa San Antonio Chapel.

Nakiisa ang maraming mananampalataya sa prusisyon, kung saan sama-samang pinagmuni-munihan ang 14 na istasyon ng paghihirap at pagkamatay ni Hesukristo.

Pinayaman ang paggunita sa pamamagitan ng Senakulo na isinabuhay sa bawat istasyon ng krus. Pinangunahan ito ni Bro. Remond Mohan mula sa Our Lady of the Pillar Parish, Cauayan katuwang si Sis. Cyrene Casamina, Parish Youth Ministry Coordinator.

Sa bawat istasyon, itinanghal ng mga kabataan ang mahahalagang tagpo sa pasyon ni Kristo, mula sa Huling Hapunan hanggang sa Kanyang kamatayan.

Taos-pusong nagpalit-palitan ng pagbubuhat ng krus ang ilan bilang sagisag ng kanilang pakikiisa sa sakripisyo ni Kristo.

Ipinapaalala ng ganitong pagdiriwang hindi lamang ang kahalagahan ng tradisyon, kundi pati na rin ang lalim ng pananampalataya, sakripisyo, at pagmamahal na siyang sentro ng Mahal na Araw.
