TINGNAN | "Hindi po dapat mahinto ng utang na loob ang pagpapatupad ng batas”

Tumugon ang Malacañang kasunod ng pagbatikos ni Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. dahil sa pag-aresto ni dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, na nagpahintulot sa pagpapalibing sa kay Ferdinand Marcos Sr. sa Libingan ng mga Bayani.

Tumanggi si Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra na maging kinatawan ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno sa petisyon sa Korte Suprema kaugnay ng naging pag-aresto at pagbiyahe kay dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa The Hague.

Sa inihaing mosyon ni Guevarra, iginiit nitong wala nang hurisdiksyon ang ICC sa Pilipinas. Aniya, dahil dito, hindi na kayang katawanin ng OSG ang mga respondent.

"If that is my fate then I have to face it."

Sen. Ronald dela Rosa said he is willing to turn himself in when the protection he is expecting from the Senate ends over a possible release of a warrant of arrest from the ICC.

Senate President Francis Escudero confirmed Monday that Dela Rosa can seek the protection of the Senate.
