I felt this was worth sharing because it reminded me why I started this journey in the first place.

To give you a little backstory, she’s from Europe and traveled solo last July to Albay. Knowing she’s okay now, and hearing her story again, made me realize something deeper… tour guiding was never just a job for me, it’s always been personal.

There were moments I became vulnerable too. I connected with her in ways I didn’t expect. Sometimes, people don’t need advice, they just need someone who will listen, without judgment. Someone who will simply be there, even if it’s a stranger.

One memory that stayed with me was when we were at Vera Falls. We were swimming while the rain poured so heavily, and she opened up about what led her to travel alone. It was such a raw, honest moment… one that moved me to tears.

This is one of the many reasons why I do this, not just to earn, but to make every adventure personal. Because I’m also a traveler, and I know how it feels to meet someone who makes your journey more meaningful. Those are the memories you carry with you forever.

To my future clients, I hope when our paths cross, it’s not because you’re broken, lost, or hurting… but because you’re out there choosing to explore, to connect, and to find joy in the world again. 💛
