𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗫 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀: 𝗡𝗨 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿

Strengthening its commitment to inclusive and community development, the NU Clark Schools of Architecture, Technology and Computing (SATC) and Engineering (SEng) together with the Community Extension Services Office (COMEX), met with the Alaya Women’s Center to discuss potential community development projects and future pathways for collaboration.

The meeting brought together SATC Dean Ar. Rafaela Mae Landayan, Ar. Arianne Jean David, and Engr. Rolando Tanig, Jr., who presented their plans for the center.

Additionally, the COMEX Office also reported the preliminary findings of the Needs Assessment of Alaya Women’s Center that revolved around Education, Infrastructure, Legal Assistance, Health, and Wellness.

Moreover, potential areas for collaborations such as scholarship and partnership with the Local Government Unit where Alaya is based were also planned out.

This initiative is a contribution to the UN SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals.

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗡𝗨: 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗫 𝗥𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳

The Community Extension Services Office warmly invites NU Clark Faculty Members to attend the COMEX Reorientation, Starting aNU, on July 29, 1:00 PM at the 4th Floor Case Room.

This leg of the orientation is for all interested SHS and College Faculty Members, most importantly our newly onboarded Faculty Members for AY 2026-2027. Meanwhile, a separate reorientation will be held for Academic and Administrative Support Personnel. Details to follow.

This Reorientation Program will cascade necessary information on the policies, processes, and procedures that an NU Clark Faculty Member must undertake prior the conduct of a community extension PPA (Program, Project, or Activities).

Additionally, it shall feature a writeshop on the newly revised and newly institutionalized forms that faculty members must use prior approval of a PPA.

Furthermore, an election of officers for Pamiyabe-Faculty Organization shall also be conducted. This organization of faculty volunteers shall be the ones to spearhead their independent initiatives for community development.

𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗞𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗘 𝗩𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗠𝗘 𝟮 𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗘 𝟭:

Last year, Kayantabe told a story of how we planted seeds. This was a journey that marked the very initial steps of how we journeyed with our partner communities. It was laying the groundwork cultivating meaningful partnerships and a dawn of new hope that one day we would create lasting impact.

This year, that story continues on how stable a foundation already has taken root. That we now know of a story of how we drew strength from each other that even enabled us to reach even greater heights because we chose to Root for Each Other.

The National University Clark Community Extension Services Office proudly presents the second volume of KAYANTABE, our official magazine, carrying this year’s theme, “Rooting for Each Other.”

It is more than a collection of stories, Kayantabe, but rather a celebration of the continued partnerships, shared purpose, and collective action that continue to shape our communities.

This volume chronicles how students, faculty, administrative support personnel, alumni, industry partners, government units, and local communities have stood beside one another to transform challenges into opportunities and service into lasting impact. It also features the new chapter we have uncovered for this academic year – a fruitful, productive, yet a humbling journey.

As we turn each page, may these stories remind us that the strongest communities are built not by individuals alone, but by people who choose to believe in one another, support one another, and who root for each other.

𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐇 𝐈𝐍 𝐍𝐔𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐒 | 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓-𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Each number presented here tells a story because behind each statistic is a volunteer, a partner, and a community whose lives have been touched by altruistic service.

As the NU Clark Community Extension Services Office closes another year filled with milestones, these numbers reflect not just of our commitment to community and sustainable development, but rather our STRENGTH as ALL OF US WERE TOGETHER for NU Clark and our immediate communities. The Executive Administration, Faculty, Student, Administrative Services Personnel, Alumni, and Partner Organizations have joined hand-in-hand to serve communities without expecting in return. We have enacted meaningful and impactful changes among the lives of others to which has become our shared purpose as an institution beyond the four walls of the classroom.

And all our efforts and hard work have reached heights as one of our proudest milestones this year is the recognition of five (5) Community Extension Programs in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026. This affirms that NU Clark's community engagement initiatives are creating impact that extends far beyond our local communities. It is a testament that innovative extension work, rooted in compassion and collaboration, serves as an inspiration even in the global scene.

Volunteerism continued to prove to be the heartbeat our office. All faculty member and students advocated for the shared cause, their efforts also amplified by the commitment of our ASPs. At NU Clark, service was not just encouraged but embraced by all, weaving a shared sense of purpose throughout our community.

Faculty members alone contributed an impressive average of 95 volunteer hours, proving that true nation-building flourishes when people come together, offering their time, skills, and expertise. NU Clark also recorded 100% involvement in Faculty and Students, showing that we truly have come together for the benefit of many.

Our collaborations continue to use education as a platform to change people's lives. 500 textbooks were donated to young students as part of Project KABANATA's ongoing partnership with SM Foundation and SM City Clark, boosting literacy, enhancing classrooms, and creating additional possibilities for high-quality education. This collaboration is still a prime example of how corporate social responsibility can empower future generations and have a long-lasting educational influence.

Not only have we been partners with SM City Clark for this project alone, but we have had a total of 7 NU Clark and SM City Clark Collaborations for Community Development, affirming again how deserving SM City Clark is for its SM Supermall’s Mall of the Year Award this 2026.

Equally significant was our most recent partnership with the Cross Court Club and the Pickle and Friends Community, which marked NU Clark's inaugural partnership with sporting communities for community extension. Having raised Php 55,000, we successfully distributed 300 learning kits to primary learners, demonstrating that when sports organizations work together for a shared goal, they can be effective advocates for education and social development.

To support health and wellness, we worked with the LAKAN Community Center and recorded over 500 voluntary participations in our Free HIV Testing Booth Activations. This turnout shows how important awareness, prevention, and community support are for making healthcare more inclusive and accessible.

At the same time, the NU Clark community showed the spirit of bayanihan by donating 102 blood bags to the Philippine Red Cross – Angeles Chapter. This simple act of generosity helped save many lives.

AY 2025-2026 saw 55 community extension projects implemented across 25 partner organizations with over ₱300,000 in monetary donations, 1,000+ relief goods distributed to communities in need. These milestones alone reflect how this year has been able to expand our reach to communities.

More significantly, the NU Clark Pamiyabe placed 14th globally in the World University Rankings for Innovation. This shows that our stories in community development were also aptly written together by our students.

These cited milestones have not yet perfectly been captured by these numbers. As behind them were real-world challenges that we tried taking part in, behind them were tireless days and nights only made possible by how we came to root for each other, behind them were real people sharing resources for the benefit of many. These are not just numbers. All this reminds us that Community Work is never the work of one office alone. It is the shared mission and purpose of every volunteer, every faculty member, student, ASP, and partner, who believe Education That Works extends beyond the classroom and into the communities we serve.

This is not just by the numbers. This is our Strength in Numbers. This is the NU Clark’s Story of Service.

𝗦𝗠 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗦𝗠 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗨 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗞𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗔

In a continuing commitment to advancing access to quality education, SM Foundation, in partnership with SM City Clark, formally turned over 500 primary-level textbooks to the NU Clark Community Extension Services Office (COMEX) in support of the second year of Project KABANATA.

The turnover marks the second year of collaboration between NU Clark and SM in implementing Project KABANATA, a flagship literacy and educational assistance initiative that aims to improve access to learning materials for partner schools.

The donated textbooks will be distributed to beneficiary schools, Calumpang Elementary School and Monicayo Integrated School, complementing the University's continuing efforts to promote literacy and support learners as they prepare for the new academic year.

The National University Clark Community Extension Services Office expresses its sincere appreciation to SM Foundation and SM City Clark for their continued trust, generosity, and commitment to Project KABANATA. Their unwavering support over the past two years has significantly contributed to expanding educational opportunities for learners in partner communities and has strengthened the University's mission of transforming lives through education and community engagement.

NU Clark COMEX also extends its warmest congratulations to SM City Clark for being recognized as SM Supermalls' Mall of the Year 2026. This prestigious recognition is a testament to the mall's excellence in operations, customer service, innovation, and community involvement.

As SM City Clark continues to set the standard for corporate leadership and social responsibility, we look forward to sustaining this meaningful partnership in advancing initiatives that empower communities and inspire positive social change.
