Anemia: Lack of High Blood
Do you ever feel tired? Did someone say you were pale? Are you pregnant or over 60? Then get your blood checked for anemia.
Anemia is a common condition in which the body lacks red blood (red blood cells). We know that red blood carries oxygen to the whole body.
Often, anemia is referred to as iron-deficiency anemia or IDA. The two main causes of this are the lack of nutrition from food and having any bleeding in the body.
Problems of Filipinos:
According to DOST and FNRI Seventh National Nutrition Survey in 2008, iron-deficiency anemia affects 4 out of 10 pregnant women in the Philippines. For babies from 6 months to 1 year old, 56% also have anemia. In children aged 1 to 12 years, there is 20% anemic as well. When it comes to the age of 60 and above, there are 3 out of every 10 senior citizens who lack blood.
What is the complication of this? For pregnant women, baby delivery can be premature or premature. For a child with anemia, they can be short, thin, painful and difficult to learn.
Symptoms and Treatment:
If there is only a slight anemia, no symptoms are likely to be experienced. But if your hemoglobin count drops quickly or below 10 mg/dL hemoglobins you will feel something. Common symptoms of anemia are weakness, dizziness when standing, shortness of breath and palpitation.
To know if you have anemia, get CBC (complete blood count) to check hemoglobin and hematocrit levels in the blood.
The good news about anemia is that it is easy to treat:
1. Eat foods high in iron. In meats, iron is high in beef liver, beef, pork and chicken. For those who eat less meat, you can also get iron in green vegetables like spinach, moringa, spinach, beans, peas, and skinned potatoes. Breads and cereals with extra iron.
2. Also eat foods high in vitamin C. Vitamin C helps in the absorption of iron in the body Fruits like orange, orange, pineapple and grapefruit are rich in vitamin C.
3. Iron tablets like ferrous sulfate tablets and multivitamins with iron can also be taken. Do this for a month and your hemoglobin in the blood will surely increase. Note: If there is any bleeding in the body, consult the doctor.

Colds and Cough
The common cold or cold is a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract, in the nose and throat.
Usually it's not that bad. Signs of this are colds, sore throat and cough and sometimes watery eyes, sneezing and stuffy nose.
Most adults experience colds 2 to 4 times a year, In youth especially preschoolers they get colds 6 to 10 times a year.
Tips to make you feel better:
1. Drink plenty of water and fluids - Good to drink water, juice and tea. Because it helps to replace the water lost in the body while colds or fever develop. Avoid drinking coffee as it causes dehydration. Smoking ci******es can make the symptoms worse.
2. Sip chicken soup - Sipping soup helps sick people. Experts say it relieves your senses in two ways: (1) First, it is anti-inflammatory and reduces the production of colds and phlegm in your respiratory tract; (2) Second, it temporarily speeds up the movement of the s saving towards the nose, to help relieve a clogged nose and reduce the increase of virus sticking around the nose.
3. Rest - If necessary, stay at home and do not come to work if you have fever, severe cough, or dizziness. Rest is important to speed up recovery.
4. Make the room comfortable - Make the room cozy or not to feel warm, may purchase an air conditioner if needed. Clean the air conditioner often to avoid the increase of bacteria and mold.
5. Soothe the throat - Drink warm water with salt in the morning. Drink warm lemon mixed with honey, as it helps to relieve sore throat as well as cough.
6. Use nasal drop (nasal spray) - Saline nasal spray is effective, safe to use and non-irritating. Can also be used for children, to relieve clogged nose.
7. Take a Vitamin C tablet – Vitamin C intake can have the effect of reducing the duration of your cold symptoms.
Usually a cold only lasts 1 to 2 weeks. If cold symptoms worsen, consult your doctor.
