Successful Conduct of Saulog Street Dancing and Ritual Showdown 2026

The Saulog Festival 2026 Street Dancing and Ritual Showdown, held on April 26, 2026, were successfully conducted, highlighting the vibrant culture, unity, and festive spirit of the people of Tagbilaran City.

The Street Dancing competition brought life to the downtown area of Tagbilaran City, where contingents from various barangays and participating groups showcased lively and colorful performances along the main thoroughfares. Thousands of spectators witnessed a dynamic display of creativity, coordination, and cultural pride.

The Ritual Showdown, held at the Carlos P. Garcia Sports Complex, featured well-choreographed performances that reflected the festival’s theme, demonstrating discipline, artistry, and cultural heritage.

The entire conduct of the activities was generally peaceful, orderly, and successful, made possible through the strong collaboration of law enforcement agencies, force multipliers, local government units, event organizers, and the community.

Notably, Mayor Jane C. Yap and Cong. Baba Yap personally supervised the activities and actively joined the post-event debriefing, ensuring that all aspects of the celebration were properly evaluated and that public safety measures were effectively implemented.

The Philippine National Police, particularly the Tagbilaran City Police Station, extends its sincere appreciation to all stakeholders and partner agencies for their invaluable support in ensuring a safe and successful event.

In a statement, the Chief of Police expressed his gratitude:

MAJOR DRUG BUST IN TAGBILARAN: OVER ₱7.4 MILLION WORTH OF SHABU SEIZED, 2 DRUG PERSONALITIES ARRESTED

TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL – A major breakthrough in the fight against illegal drugs was achieved by joint law enforcement operatives following the successful arrest of two drug personalities, including a High-Value Individual (HVI), and the confiscation of more than ₱7.4 million worth of suspected shabu during an operation conducted at around 12:56 PM on April 27, 2026 in Purok 3, Barangay Dampas, Tagbilaran City.

Authorities seized approximately 1,096.9 grams of suspected shabu, a substantial quantity that underscores the seriousness of the illegal drug threat and the importance of sustained enforcement efforts.

The operation was led by the City Drug Enforcement Team (CDET) of Tagbilaran City Police Station, under the direct supervision of PLTCOL JOEY MALLARE BICOY, Officer-in-Charge, in coordination with RID 7, RPDEU 7, RID 8 Tracker Team, PDEG SOU 7, PIU/PDEU BPPO, Bohol Maritime Police Station, and the PDEA Bohol Satellite Office, with proper coordination under Control Number 8-00-04272026-002.

“This successful operation reflects our firm commitment to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs. We assure the public that your police will remain aggressive and relentless in pursuing those who threaten the safety of our communities,” said PLTCOL Joey Malarre Bicoy.

Cases for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) are being prepared against the arrested individuals.

The Tagbilaran City Police Station continues to call on the public to stay vigilant and actively support law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities.
