Natutungan ES Conducts Deworming Activity

Natutungan Elementary School successfully conducted its school-based deworming activity on March 24, 2026, as part of its continuous health and nutrition program for learners. The activity was carried out through the support of Barangay Health Workers and school personnel to help promote a healthy and safe learning environment for pupils.

The program began with proper handwashing and toothbrushing activities to reinforce the importance of good personal hygiene. This was followed by the feeding of arroz caldo to ensure that learners had eaten prior to the administration of the deworming tablets. Barangay Health Workers led the deworming process, carefully monitoring the pupils and strictly observing health protocols.

Out of the total school enrollment, half of the learners were successfully dewormed during the activity. Some pupils were not able to participate due to forgotten parent consent forms, while others were absent or advised not to join because they were sick on that day. Despite this, the school ensured that all procedures were conducted safely and properly for those who were eligible.

Sir Daryl Adrian B. Torres, Teacher-in-Charge of Natutungan Elementary School emphasized the importance of the activity stating, “The deworming program is very important in maintaining the health of our learners. Healthy children learn better and perform well in school. We understand the reasons why some pupils were unable to participate and we will continue to encourage parents and guardians to support future health programs of the school.”

Natutungan Elementary School remains committed to strengthening health initiatives that support the overall well-being and academic success of its learners.
