Energy filled the venue as five Grade 10 sections took the stage in a dynamic hip-hop performance, with SSC Aristotle emerging as 1st place, followed by SSC Archimedes in 2nd place and Socrates in 3rd place, showcasing excellence, discipline, and strong school pride through an impressive display of talent and teamwork.

: Marking the opening program of the Naujan West Schools District Press Conference 2025, the Division Got Talent Champion from Porfirio G. Comia Memorial National High School captivated the audience with an expressive performance that highlighted pressing social issues faced by the nation today.

: Journalists from five secondary schools across the Naujan West District have gathered at Porfirio G. Comia Memorial National High School with one goal — to bring home the crown for their respective schools in the Naujan West District Schools Press Conference 2025.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗵𝗶 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱’𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺

Porfirio G. Comia Memorial National High School (Comehi) launched the ARAL Program, a nationwide initiative of the Department of Education (DepEd) designed to strengthen learners’ reading skills and address learning gaps of 185 initial learners, September 15.

In her message, Josie R. Panagsagan, Principal IV, emphasized that reading is the foundation of all learning and urged learners to take the program seriously as a key to academic success.

"Walang Comehier ang maiiwang hindi nakababasa," said Maam Josie to underscore the program's prime objective.

The launch featured the performance of the official theme song “Tara Na, ARAL Na MIMAROPA” by selected English Club Officers and Grade 10 - SSC Archimedes students. A Pledge of Commitment was then signed by the School Principal, Assistant Principal, and ARAL tutors, affirming the school community’s support for the program.

An orientation activity, “ARALympics,” capped the event, engaging learners in contests such as the Spelling Bee, Scrabble, and Word Factory. Tokens were awarded to participants, and the program concluded with the principal’s reminder that reading is a gateway to learning opportunities and lifelong growth.

ARAL Program - Reading Basic will have its first session on September 17.

In a domineering showcase of overpowering spikes and towering blocks, Porfirio G. Comia Memorial National High School asserted victory against San Agustin National High School in Men’s Volleyball Game 2 of the District Meet 2025, September 11.

A face-off between two of Naujan West’s powerhouses, Comehi and SANHS delivered a thrilling match filled with nail-biting anticipation. They indulged the crowd in a tug-of-war for control, relentless in their pursuit of dominance.

The first set opened with an exchange of errors, giving both teams a point apiece. Wasting no time in establishing momentum, John Maykel Ilao stunned SANHS with a forceful blast, leaving the opposing team’s reaction a millisecond too late.

Recovering from early setbacks, SANHS tightened their defense with a three-man block. But Ilao proved unpredictable—his sharp plays dismantled SANHS’s wall one blow at a time. With Rhoy Jamig and Renz De Jesus neutralizing SANHS’s counterattacks, Comehi, led by Ilao, fended off every attempt despite close rallies, clinching the first set, 25-22.

The second set became a do-or-die scenario—either Comehi would seal the win or SANHS would stage an electric comeback. True to form, Ilao pierced through SANHS’s defense with booming spikes aimed at blind spots.

Setter Jamig also showcased his craft, faking a set to John Lee Elduayan before unexpectedly dumping the ball over the net, catching both teams by surprise. In the following rally, Ilao capitalized on Elduayan’s play, slamming the ball down with precision.

Exhibiting quick strategizing and relentless counterattacks, Comehi reigned supreme on the court, overwhelming the home team with powerful offense and impenetrable defense. In a decisive finish, they swiped the second set, 25-10.

With the win, Comehi edged closer to the championship crown, sending a resounding warning to their next opponents. Ilao, who tallied 18 points, emerged as the game’s MVP with his consistency on both offense and defense.

Unfazed by the gloomy sky covering the venue, San Agustin National High School warmly welcomed the delegates of different schools to the Naujan West District Athletic Association Meet on September 11.

In the face of a new challenge, representatives of Porfirio G. Comia Memorial National High School, Doroteo S. Mendoza Sr. Memorial National High School, Tigbao National High School, Laguna National High School, and the host school themselves exhibited their fierce will and unwavering determination in the parade, followed by the entrance of colors, school heads, coaches, and student officers.

The Oath of Sportsmanship was led by Helaena Leaihl Leido from SANHS, followed by the lighting of the Torch of Unity with a representative from each school. With his inspirational words and motivation, Sir James T. Zamora officially declared the start of the District Meet 2025.
