LGU-Gamay Records First Completed FY 2024 SBDP Sub-Projects In Eastern Visayas

In the grand tapestry of narratives and accomplishments of FY 2024 LGSF-Support to the Barangay Development Program, LGU- Gamay claims a laudable spot being the first to successfully complete, not just one, but two sub-projects in the entire Eastern Visayas Region.

Gearing toward elevating the lives of its people, LGU-Gamay, in the vision of Mayor Raquel Capoquian, paired with the dynamic service of Dr. Tim Capoquian, Municipal Administrator, and the support of all LGU Officials, has been consistently committed in delivering priority infrastructure projects in various barangays and in meeting the approved engineering standards for the benefit of the projects' end users.

To ensure the projects’ structural integrity, the 220-m and 240-m farm-to-market roads in Barangays Bato and Malidong, respectively, underwent through joint final inspections by the members of the Local Project Monitoring Committee, personnel of the Municipal Engineering Office headed by OIC- Municipal Engineer, Engr. Ronel Capoquian, Jr., MLGOO Romie B. Horca, and PDMU Engineers of DILG-NSPO. Both road projects were declared substanitally finished ahead of their target dates of completion.

From poverty alleviation initiatives, these road projects now serve as significant contributors in the agricultural progress in this countryside offering local farmers an access to a larger market for their products; in quick emergency and disaster response; and in the delivery of health and other basic services from the government and non-government organizations. The pavements, both amounting to Php 2.5M, gratify 1,080 and 470 direct beneficiaries in Bato and Malidong, respectively.

After the momentous accomplishment, LGU-Gamay is set to finish nine (9) more road projects under FY 2024 SBDP in Barangays Anito, Bonifacio, Cabarasan, Cade-an, Cagamutan Del Norte, Dao, Guibwangan, Libertad, and San Antonio. In total, LGU-Gamay receives an allocation of Php 27.5M, equally divided among 11 recipient barangays for the implementation of their respective road projects.
