What is the "core" of your faith?

Hosea calls Israel to return to the Lord. A scribe asks Jesus about the first commandment. The answer: Love God with everything, and your neighbor as yourself.

Advice: Perform a "Station of the Cross" today at your local parish.

The Law isn't a burden; it's a map.

Moses urges the people to keep the statutes to show their wisdom. Jesus says He came not to abolish the Law, but to fulfill it. Love is the fulfillment.

Advice: Read the Ten Commandments today and see them as "Ten Ways to Love."

How many times must we forgive?

Peter asks for a limit on forgiveness, but Jesus reveals there is none. We are forgiven a massive debt by God; we must release the "pennies" others owe us.

Advice: Reach out to someone you've had a disagreement with and offer peace.

Healing often comes in ways we don't expect.

Naaman almost missed his cure because he thought the solution was too simple. Jesus reminds us that God often works outside our "expectations."

Practice a simple devotion, like the Jesus Prayer, throughout the day.

God is calling you from the "Burning Bush."

God reveals His name to Moses on holy ground. In the Gospel, Jesus gives the parable of the fig tree—God is the patient gardener giving us one more year to bear fruit.

Advice: Write down one habit you want to "prune" this Lent.
