The Star of the North
Taytay, the first capital of mainland Palawan and the site of one of the island's earliest kingdoms, shines as the Star of the North. Known as the home of the world-renowned Golden South Sea Pearl, this costume celebrates the town's rich history, culture, and enduring legacy.
The radiant star at the back bears 31 stars, symbolizing the 31 barangays of Taytay, united as one community. The 7 stars on the headdress represent the municipality's seven clusters: Abobalipata, Casbatmaydede, Guinpancalaba, Calapalpangbeben, Casbatmaydede, Lisanmituka, and Tribu Cinopalob.
Adorned in gold and pearl-inspired details, the ensemble reflects the brilliance of Taytay's people, the treasures of its seas, and the pride of a town that continues to guide Palawan's future like a shining star in the north. ✨
