Today is International Women’s Day.
At a time when women’s rights face ongoing challenges, leadership is needed more than ever.
Gender equality is both a fundamental human right and essential to building sustainable, resilient businesses and economies. When women advance and lead, companies perform better, economies grow stronger and societies benefit as a whole.
The UN Global Compact is mobilizing companies worldwide to turn commitments into measurable action through the Women’s Empowerment Principles and Forward Faster initiative—advancing equal pay, leadership representation and inclusive workplaces.

At the GCNP General Assembly on 3 March 2026, participant organizations reaffirmed their commitment to the Ten Principles and the Global Goals. 🌍
The Network celebrates a growing community of 79 participants: companies, SMEs, business associations, academe, and NGOs — all united in responsible business action. These participants form part of the United Nations Global Compact, joining 25,000+ organizations across 167 countries. GCNP bridges this global movement to local action through accelerator programmes, peer learning sessions, and flagship events like the Sustainability Summit.
United Nations Philippines Resident Coordinator Mr. Arnaud Peral affirmed the private sector's critical role in advancing the SDGs in the country. This year's Assembly carried special weight as the Philippines steps into its role as ASEAN 2026 Chair. DTI Philippines Chief of Staff Mr. Jeremiah Reyes (representing Secretary Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque) emphasized the importance of public-private collaboration in ensuring ASEAN 2026 delivers tangible outcomes for Philippine enterprises. ASEAN BAC Philippines Chair and Go Negosyo Founder Mr. Joey Concepcion echoed this with a compelling call for inclusivity, reminding us that progress must be built on the growth of micro and small entrepreneurs.
The Assembly also marked the election of the 2026 Board of Trustees, who will lead GCNP into its next chapter — carrying forward a renewed commitment to principled, purposeful business action.
