Just like the bird Butimar,
Who stares at the waves with quiet ache,
Longing for a single sip,
Yet caged by its own silent heartbreak.

I, too, stand at the shore of your heart,
Thirsting for your warmth, your touch, your gaze.
But fate made oceans out of our nearness,
Turning breaths into endless haze.

You, who glow like moonlight on restless water,
So close my fingers tremble at your glow,
Yet so far my soul forgets how to swim,
Drifting in a sea only I know.

I long for what I cannot hold,
A thirst that no tide can ever quench.
Just like Butimar, forever watching—
Loving you, without a single chance.
