PNHS Practice Teachers
"Teaching is the greatest act of optimism."
-Colleen Wilcox
During the off-campus internship of Pre-Service Teachers in Pagsanghan National High School (PNHS), Mrs. Melanie L. De Loyola, Master Teacher II, challenged them to compose a Hymn for the school. The future educators accepted the challenge.
The hymn was originally written by Daren E. Pensaber, a Pre-Service Teacher with a majorship in Social Studies. The song's melody was created by Wayne Chester G. Bulacan, a Pre-Te from Science major, and its music arrangement was arranged by Edgar L. Tulop Jr., also from Social Studies major.
The 14 Pre-Service Teachers performed the song during their Exit Conference.
The rest is history.

Thirteen pre-service teachers from SSU return to alma mater PNHS
Kay tagal mong nawala, babalik ka rin.
(You may be gone for a long time, still, you will come back.)
This is what the 13 pre-service teachers of Samar State University (SSU) realized after being officially deployed for teaching internship in their high school alma mater Pagsanghan National High School (PNHS), March 24, Friday.
The SSU College of Education (CoEd) sent a total of 14 Pre-Service teachers to PNHS and 13 of them were high school products of the said secondary school while one was from Samar National School (SNS) but a resident of Pagsanghan, Samar.
Number of Pre-Service teachers per major:
English - Two(2)
Mathematics - One(1)
Physical Education - Two(2)
Science - Five(5)
Social Studies - Four(4)
In an interview to Mr. Joselito Orquin, a pre-service teacher with a majorship in Science, he expressed how happy he is in making a come back in his beloved former school.
"Haros upat katuig an naglabay, akon gud ini ginkakalipay nga nahibalik ako dinhi ha PNHS, pinalangga ko nga waray kapantay." - Mr. Orquin.
Meanwhile, PNHS Secondary School Principal I Mrs. Ma. Villa Cruda formally opened the Deployment Program and she told the would-be teachers about her hope that their Cooperating Teachers could help them in their actual application of knowledge they have gained from SSU.
SSU Quality Assurance Coordinator Professor Jake Boy Carbonquillo made his presence in PNHS campus as he led the Turn Over of Student Teachers. He proudly entrusted the SSU CoEd products to their CTs and he believes that their instrumentalities as teachers will help the Pre-Tes to further develop their skills as future educators.
"My cooperating teachers, we now entrust them to you believing that your instrumentality will help them to further develop their skills as a future teacher," said Professor Carbonquillo.
He also left a message to the Pre-Tes reminding them their task in the field.
"To my Pre-Tes, I am now bringing you home to where you have started dreaming to become a teacher. Your task therefore is to follow because there might be things that you can't understand but if you will be in their shoes, things will be that clear," - Professor Carbonquillo.
Moreover, a Social Studies Major, Mr. Joshua Estrelles and Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) Major, Mr. Wendell Rosales performed an entertainment as they played their signature music "Sabay-Sabay Tayo" in their solidarity dance. Their co-pre-service teachers, the School Heads and the Cooperating Teachers joined in to the dance floor.
Present also in the deployment were Assistant School Principal II Mrs. Grace Pedrita who delivered the acceptance message, Head Teacher III Mrs. Rosa Esquilla, and Master Teacher III Mrs. Melanie De Loyola who formally closed the program.
Meanwhile, the program finished off through a photo opportunity.
