Polar blue parrot cichlid is also known as polar blue cichlid or polar parrot cichlid. They are thought to be a hybrid made by mixing the Convict cichlid and parrot cichlid. A lot of online sources support this theory. But thereās no actual evidence that these fish have been made as a hybrid, even if itās true then thereās no scientific or documented evidence supporting that they were a product of cross-breeding the convicts and parrot cichlids. So we must keep an open mind about the origin of polar blue cichlids. However, the appearance of this fish does somewhat supports the theory of the convict and parrot cichlid hybrid.

The golden apple snail (Pomacea bridgesii), which is also known under the names apple snail, mystery snail and golden mystery snail, is a large, popular fresh-water snail. Originally found throughout the Amazon river basin, it has now spread to Hawaii, Southeast Asia and has been recently reported in Florida.
In the wild, golden apple snails spend most of their lives submerged in water, emerging only to occasionally forage and during mating to lay their eggs on land. Even though they spend the majority of their lives under water, they still require air to breath, and accomplish this through extending a specialized breathing tube (siphon) to the surface of the water.
While they are best known for the yellow color variant, the pomacea bridgessi does come in many different colors. Itās no surprise that the yellow variant is the most popular and widely available, but you will also find albino, brown and a nearly black color in the aquarium trade.
When looking to purchase a golden apple snail, itās important to remember that they can grow to a monstrous size compared to other snails. Most are sold when they are under 1 inch (2.5cm) in diameter, but they can grow to massive 5 inches. Some extremely well fed and cared for can grow to an aquarium busting 6 inch diameter.

Betta smaragdina comes from an area that borders Thailand and Laos. This fish was first identified by Ladiges in 1972 and quickly established its place in the tropical fish hobby, especially among anabantoid enthusiasts. The shiny green sheen on the body and fins has led to this fish being referred to by some as the āemerald Betta.ā
Betta smaragdina is 7 cm long, the females remain smaller. Theyāre not as colourful as the males, showing a brown body colour with two dark irregular lateral stripes, giving a lighter zone as we can see with other Betta genus females. The maleās body colour is mainly blue or green, giving the impression of an emerald. The fin rays are bright red as the pelvics are the same with a large black edge ending on the extremity in white-blueish. Operculum is green. The a**l fin is pointed, the dorsal fin looking like a large flame. The body is quite more elongated than in Betta splendens. When in stress, or kept in bad conditions, the male lets show the same stripes than the female.

Betta splendens is the formal name of the beautiful fish that used to be known as Siamese Fighting Fish. In centuries past, they were kept for their fighting nature. Now we keep them as pets for their beautiful looks and individual personalities. They are often commonly referred to simply as ābettaā or ābetta fishā [bet-uh].
The fish have been around for centuries and are highly prized as pets in Asia. In 1840, the King of Siam presented several of his prized fighting fish to a friend who in turn gave the fish to his friend, Theodore Cantor, a doctor in the Bengal Medical Service. It was not until 1909 that C. Tate Regan formally āidentifiedā the fish and gave it the scientific name Betta splendens. In 1927 the first brightly hued, flowing-finned Siamese fighting fish were brought to the United States.
Bettas have evolved far beyond their original wild type appearance, and are now the primary type of show betta that is seen in pet stores. Sometimes called theādesigner fish of the aquatic worldā, bettas have been bred over time into many colors and tail types. They even have their own specialty shows where the best and most beautiful compete against each other using the IBC Exhibition Standards.
The first tail type we saw and still have around today is the Veil Tail, the long flowing tail that opens up like a wedding veil upon flaring (displaying their fins in full aggressive display). Through selective breeding we now also have long-finned Deltatails, Halfmoons, Crowntails, Doubletails, and short-finned Traditional Plakats (very similar in form to their wild ancestors of Betta imbellis and Betta mahachaiensis), Show Plakat, Shortfin Halfmoon, and crowntails and doubletails in short-finned versions. Other types you might see include large pectoral finned bettas, and giant bettas. New form types and colors are always being developed as people breed their fish.
