JOINT COMMITTEE MEETING | 10th Sangguniang Panlungsod

The Committees on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, and Land Utilization, Housing, and Urban and Rural Development convened a joint committee meeting to discuss the proposed Geological and Geohazards Data End-User License Agreement (EULA) between the City Government of Tacurong and the DENR–Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Regional Office XII.

The agenda focused on the request for landslide- and flood-susceptibility maps (shapefile format) to support the updating of the City’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP)—a vital step toward informed planning, environmental protection, and disaster preparedness.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATES │ The Proposed Ordinance entitled “AN ORDINANCE PROMOTING THE DEVELOPMENT, UTILIZATION, AND COMMERCIALIZATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES IN THE CITY OF TACURONG, APPROPRIATION FUNDS THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.” is now approved on FIRST READING.

The Proposed Ordinance authored by Hon. Raffy L. Lacson, Chairperson of the Committee Power, Energy, and Public Utilities, recognizes the importance of maximizing the gains of the use renewable energy and adheres to the declared policy of the State based on Republic Act No. 9513, otherwise known as the “Renewable Energy Act of 2008”.

LEGISLATIVE UPDATES │ The Proposed Ordinance entitled “AN ORDINANCE ENACTING THE ENERGY CODE OF THE CITY OF TACURONG TO PROMOTE ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND CONSERVATION, FACILITATE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ENERGY PROJECTS, HARMONIZE LOCAL AND NATIONAL POLICIES ON ENERGY DEVELOPMENT UTILIZATION, MANAGEMENT EFFICIENCY, SAFETY, RESILIENCE AND DEVELOPMENT, PROVIDING FUNDS THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.” is now approved on FIRST READING.

The Proposed Ordinance authored by Hon. Raffy L. Lacson, Chairperson of the Committee Power, Energy, and Public Utilities, seeks to comply with the Philippine Energy Plan (PEP) 2018-2040 to unify with government partners and the private sector to meet the country’s electricity and fuel requirements through improvements in the energy market, simplification of government procedures.
