People often ask me, “Miss Angie, how can I be confident like you?”

Here’s one real hack.

And I learned this the hard way.

Do not date insecure people.

I used to ignore that.
I thought I was just being understanding.
I thought love meant being patient.
I thought I could help them grow.

I was wrong.

I was in a relationship with someone who was insecure about himself.
At first, I didn’t see it as a red flag.
But slowly, it started to show.

He would question what I do.
He would try to control small things.
He would make comments that slowly tear me down.
And the worst part?
When I was doing well, he wasn’t happy for me.

He felt threatened.
He made me feel like I had to shrink just to keep the peace.

That is not love.

That is insecurity.

And if you’re not careful, it will consume you.
You won’t even notice it at first.
Until one day, you’re smaller.
Quieter.
Less confident than you used to be.

Never date someone who is not doing the work on themselves.
Man or woman, it doesn’t matter.

And it’s not just in dating.

Do not stay in environments where people constantly talk badly about others.
Where negativity is normal.
Where people bond over tearing others down.

Because one way or another, you will become like that too.
Or worse, you will start to doubt yourself.

Confidence is not just how you see yourself.
It’s also about who you allow around you.

Stop lowering your standards just to keep someone.
The right people will rise to meet you.
They will not ask you to shrink.

You deserve to grow.
You deserve to feel supported.
You deserve to be around people who are secure enough to clap for you.

Choose your environment.
Choose your people.

It will either build your confidence,
or slowly destroy it.
