The Collector Customs Appraisement Peshawar Amjad-ur-Rehman met with business community of North Waziristan and allow them for import of different vegetables and fruits from Afghanistan in one item by the customs.
According to details a delegation of North Waziristan led by President Chamber of Commerce and Industry Haji Qadeerullah Wazir called on Collector Customs Peshawar Amjad-ur-Rehman, the Additional Collector Shahid Jan and Assistant Collector Saifullah were also presented in the meeting.
The delegation was led by Haji Qadeerullah Wazir including Haji Abdullah Khan, President Vegetable Fruits North Waziristan, and Senior Customs Clearing Agent at Ghulam Khan Border Sahib Rehman.
During the meeting, issues facing North Waziristan traders and other issues were discussed while a detailed discussions was held regarding the declaration of import of vegetables and fruits from Afghanistan in one item by the customs.
After consulting the traders the North Waziristan Chamber of Commerce and Industry was suspended the implementation of one-item policy for some time at the request of the Chamber.
The Chamber delegation also demanded the Collector Customs to resolve the issue of road passage of vehicles coming from Afghanistan.
The Collector Customs Appraisement Peshawar assured the delegation of North Waziristan to solve problems of the business community as soon as possible on propriety basis. Ends

The Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation-IR’s Operation took action against a shopper bag manufacturer due to not paying sales tax.
In a drive against unregistered persons who are liable to be registered and are required to pay due sales taxes on their taxable supplies under the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the Federal Board of Revenue’s Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation-Inland Revenue, Multan has conducted proceedings under Section 38 and 40 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990 against an unregistered unit manufacturing Plastic shoppers.
The unit was engaged in manufacturing and making taxable supplies of Plastic shoppers involving huge consumption of electricity but was not paying sales tax and had also not obtained sales tax registration.
During the search, relevant record was impounded which was under scrutiny while further investigation in this regard is underway.
Intelligence & Investigation IR Multan shall continue such operations in future in order to detect tax fraud and to increase number of taxpayers the sources informed the MAHSOOL.

KARACHI (MAHSOOL): The Directorate General of Customs Post Clearance Audit has registered FIR against an importer who evaded duty and taxes in worth of Rs.186 million.
The Directorate General of PCA (Post Clearance Audit) has unearthed case of massive under invoicing and trade based money laundering on the case forwarded by Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement South Karachi.
The sources informed "MAHSOOL" that Importer who is based in Lahore has been imported goods by declaring values massively less than actual values.
The Exporter of the goods in a foreign country has confirmed that invoice value declared by the importer is grossly under invoiced and actual invoices have not been declared with customs instead fake and tempered invoices have been presented.
After detailed Audit and Investigation of the case an FIR has been registered against the importer. The duty and taxes evaded in the case are to the tune of Rs 186 million.
