Experts say that with advanced smartphone cameras and AI-powered image processing, high-quality close-up photos may reveal enough fingerprint detail to pose potential privacy and security risks.
Since fingerprints are widely used for biometric authentication — including phone unlocking, banking verification, and identity security — publicly sharing detailed finger images could increase the risk of misuse.
