At the launch of the PTA Annual Report 2024, Chairman Hafeez-ur-Rehman clarified that *VPNs remain unblocked in Pakistan* and assured there are *no plans to restrict them in the future. While the PTA has the technical ability to block VPNs, it recognizes that information in today's world cannot be hidden.

Key highlights from the report include:
👉 Over *1,000 fake IDs* and *37 hacked accounts* (including Facebook and WhatsApp) were reported and actively resolved in collaboration with Meta.
👉 Common online security risks identified: *social engineering scams, weak passwords, unsecured Wi-Fi, and malware*.
👉 Emphasis on *using two-factor authentication (2FA)* and avoiding free VPN vulnerabilities to enhance security.
