Gul Plaza Tragedy! CM Sindh and Mayor of Karachi Face Off

According to Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah expressed strong displeasure after receiving the KMC fire safety report.

Speaking on Geo News program “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath”, Nasir Shah said the Gul Plaza incident should serve as a wake-up call for both the government and building occupants. He confirmed that the fire brigade reached the site within 10–15 minutes and admitted that the provincial government cannot absolve itself of responsibility, acknowledging lapses.

The death toll from the Gul Plaza incident in Karachi has risen to 21. Edhi officials confirmed that after bringing the fire under control, a search operation is still underway. Authorities fear the number of casualties may increase further.

ضلع وسطی کراچی میں پورشن سازی پر سرکاری پابندی کے باوجود سمن آباد بلاک 17 میں مبینہ طور پر غیر قانونی تعمیرات بلا روک ٹوک جاری ہیں۔ اطلاعات کے مطابق جُنید نفیس نامی بلڈر، جس کے خلاف تھانہ تیموریہ میں مقدمات درج ہونے کی اطلاعات بھی موجود ہیں، اس کے باوجود سمن آباد بلاک 17 میں مبینہ طور پر غیر قانونی پورشن سازی کی سرگرمیوں میں مصروف ہے، جبکہ تاحال کوئی مؤثر کارروائی سامنے نہیں آ سکی۔۔

سوال یہ ہے کہ جب قانون واضح ہے تو خلاف ورزی کرنے والوں کے خلاف ایکشن کیوں نہیں؟ شہریوں کا مطالبہ ہے کہ فوری طور پر غیر قانونی تعمیرات کو روکا جائے اور ذمہ داران کے خلاف قانون کے مطابق کارروائی کی جائے۔
