It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Robert Agunga, an esteemed African American Communication for Development (C4D) expert.

Dr. Agunga was a visionary leader and a dedicated development practitioner who worked tirelessly to combat poverty through various projects in Africa and Pakistan. He strongly advocated for the establishment of a C4D center in Pakistan at the regional (divisional) level, aiming to transform key sectors such as agriculture, environment, health, and education.

As the Principal Investigator of the first and only development communication research project in Pakistan, Dr. Agunga played a pivotal role in improving the country's extension system to support sustainable rural development.

Unfortunately, during the last year of his project in Pakistan, he faced health issues that prevented the establishment of the planned C4D centers. However, in honor of his vision and dedication, a private C4D center has now been initiated to carry forward his mission and continue promoting development communication.

His passing is a profound loss to the global development community, but his legacy will live on through the work he inspired.
