Pakistan narrowly lost 6-5 to France in a thrilling 11-goal hockey match at the FIH Nations Cup in Gniezno, Poland.
Despite the loss, Pakistan advanced to the semi-finals due to a better goal difference than Malaysia. France led 5-2 by the third quarter, with goals from Victor Charlet, Rogeau Blaise, and Gaspard Baumgarten.
Pakistan's comeback in the fourth quarter saw goals from Rana Waheed, Abdul Rehman, and Hannan Shahid, but Charlet's late penalty corner secured France's win. Pakistan, having previously drawn with Malaysia and defeated Canada 8-1, will face New Zealand in the semi-final on June 8.
