I strongly condemn the statement that Pakistan does not need nuclear weapons. Our nuclear capability is not a luxury — it is a matter of national survival and sovereignty.
History has shown that countries without strong deterrence become vulnerable to foreign pressure and aggression. If Pakistan did not have nuclear weapons today, we could easily face the same fate as many other nations that were destabilized or attacked when they lacked strong defense capabilities.
Pakistan’s nuclear program exists for one purpose: deterrence and protection of our nation. Even leaders have said its purpose is to prevent war, not to start one. Imran Khan himself previously stated that Pakistan’s nuclear weapons serve as a deterrent and are not meant for offensive use.
We should never forget the sacrifices and hard work of our heroes who made Pakistan a nuclear power. We owe immense gratitude to Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Abdul Qadeer Khan, and the many scientists, engineers, and soldiers who dedicated their lives to strengthening Pakistan’s defense.
Because of their efforts, Pakistan became a strong and respected nation. Our nuclear capability ensures that no enemy can threaten our sovereignty easily.
This is not just about weapons; it is about freedom, security, and national dignity. The sacrifices of those who built our nuclear program should never be underestimated or dismissed.
