Timely and complete treatment of TB is essential, but caring for patients’ mental health is just as important. When psychological support is ignored, stigma grows, causing patients to avoid treatment and face further complications.
In this video, Syed Khalid Raza shares his expert insights on how we can better guide and support TB patients, helping them overcome mental stress.
Let’s raise awareness and work together to end TB stigma.

TB is still a serious health challenge in Pakistan. Every year, around 686,000 people fall ill, and nearly 49,000 lives are lost.
The reality is simple: TB is preventable and curable, but only if we act early. Stigma, delayed diagnosis, and lack of awareness continue to hold us back.
Let’s stand together, spread awareness, and support those affected. Early testing can save lives.

An awareness session on World TB Day 2026 was successfully conducted at the Regional Professional Development Centre (RPDC), Laj Bok Haya Serai, Lower Dir. The session was attended by 40 primary school teachers, highlighting the important role educators play in promoting health awareness within communities.
During the session, participants were sensitized about Tuberculosis (TB), its signs and symptoms, modes of transmission, prevention strategies, and the importance of early diagnosis and complete treatment. The discussion also emphasized the collective responsibility of teachers as community influencers who can help spread accurate information and reduce stigma associated with TB.
Engaging school teachers in such initiatives is vital, as they can transfer this knowledge to students, families, and the wider community, thereby strengthening community awareness and encouraging timely health-seeking behavior.
Through collaborative efforts and sustained awareness, we move closer to the goal of a TB-free Pakistan.
