Non-refundable Support for Sustainability Projects in the Tourism Sector

The Algarve Water Efficiency Fund is a non-refundable financial incentive designed to promote water efficiency projects in the Algarve region,
with a particular focus on the tourism sector.
The goal is to reduce water consumption in urban areas by at least 15%, contributing to the region's environmental sustainability and water resilience .
Program Objective
Support investments in water efficiency solutions in tourist accommodation companies,
encouraging sustainable practices and the intelligent use of available water resources in the Algarve.

Eligible Entities
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with the following main CAE :
551 – Hotel establishments
55202 – Rural tourism
55300 – Camping and caravan parks
Geographic Area Covered
Exclusive to companies located in the Algarve , promoting the efficient use of water in a region particularly vulnerable to water scarcity.
Actions Covered
Applications must be based on the measures defined by the “Save Water” seal membership and may include:

Acquisition of water-efficient equipment
Intelligent consumption monitoring and control systems
Reduction of water losses
Auditing and specialized consultancy
Optimization of irrigation systems
Installation of infrastructure for reusing rainwater or gray water
Monitoring of reuse systems
Awareness signage for customers and guests
Team training and development
Intervention by certified accountants (up to 15% of the investment, maximum €2,500)
Costs and Support
Minimum eligible investment: €10,000
Non-refundable support: 50% of eligible expenses
Maximum incentive value: €50,000
One application per company
