💡 O Capítulo Português da IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBS) (IEEE EMBS PT Chapter), inicia o 20º aniversário com novos órgãos eleitos para o biénio 2026–2027. Num contexto marcado pelo crescimento da Engenharia Biomédica, Bioengenharia e Engenharia Biológica em Portugal, a nova Direção assume o compromisso de reforçar o papel do Chapter como promotor da internacionalização e desenvolvimento profissional dos seus membros.

🤝 A Direção Executiva:
Hugo Plácido da Silva (Presidente), Investigador Sénior no Instituto de Telecomunicações, Professor Convidado no Departamento de Bioengenharia do Instituto Superior Técnico, e empreendedor de referência na área da engenharia biomédica.

Fátima Domingues (Vice-Presidente), Professora na Khalifa University.

Patrícia Bota (Tesoureira), Directora de Tecnologia na Hibiscus Health.

Letícia Sousa (Secretária), estudante de Mestrado e investigadora em fase inicial de Doutoramento no Instituto Superior Técnico.

💡 The IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBS) (IEEE EMBS PT Chapter) starts its 20º anniversary with new officers for 2026–2027. In a context marked by the growth of Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, and Biological Engineering in Portugal, the new officers are committed to reinforce the role of the chapter as a promotor of internationalization and professional development of its members.

🤝 Our Elected Officers:
Hugo Plácido da Silva (President), Senior Research at Instituto de Telecomunicações, Invited Professor at the Departamento de Bioengenharia of Instituto Superior Técnico, and entrepreneur in the field of biomedical engineering.

Fátima (Vice-President), Professor at Khalifa University.

Patrícia Bota, PhD (Treasurer), Chief Technology Officer at Hibiscus Health.

Letícia Sousa (Secretary), MSc Student and early stage PhD researcher at Instituto Superior Técnico.
