Andy noticed something profound that most people miss about how leaders show up: "We know it when we see it. But we can't describe it." That invisible quality - presence - is what both a skilled photographer and a skilled coach are trying to unlock in another person.

In photography, as in coaching, it comes down to the smallest details. Andy explains how micro-adjustments - "a head up or a head down, a slight tilt, whether the mouth is a little bit too smiley or about right" - create dramatically different impressions of who someone is and how they want to be seen.

This is the same attentiveness a great coach brings to a session: noticing the tiny shifts in expression, energy and body language that reveal what words alone never could.

Through this intentional work - asking clients how they want to show up, creating psychological safety, and patiently trusting the process until the authentic expression emerges - Andy has watched something remarkable happen.
