These pics were taken more than a month ago on easy trails around Zărnești and Peștera/Măgura. But it's still winter-ish at the foot of the Piatra Craiului Mountains, so you might still get the chance of getting knee-deep in white snow and see such quiet, mysterious landscapes.
When visiting Tg. Mures, these spots are perfect to catch a sunrise or a sunset.

A great one-day hike near Brasov and close to Bucharest or Ploiesti as well: Grohotis Mountains. Suitable for beginners and advanced mountaineers alike, given the panoramic views it offers. They're very much like Baiului Mountains, but less popular.

An easy walk, perfect for an autumn day, in the Varghis Gorge (Covasna County).

One more trekking leg of Via Transilvanica: Tășuleasa Social - Colibița Lake. The lake is actually a detour, as it's not included in the official route. The route is totally accessible by bike, as well.
