Not every feeling can be explained with words.
For many children, drawing becomes a safe way to express emotions they don’t yet know how to describe.
Psychologist Carl Jung believed art helps bring hidden feelings to the surface — and modern research confirms that creative activities like drawing can reduce stress and support emotional regulation.
Sometimes the most honest conversations start with a drawing🎨

Happy VDay!🥰🌺🌺🌺
https://www.pandasays.org/getpandasaysapp Children don’t always express their feelings in words — sometimes they draw them.
Drawing interpretation isn’t about “labeling” a child. It’s about listening visually.
With AI and psychology combined, we can better understand emotions, patterns, and signals hidden in simple sketches.
Technology should support empathy — not replace it. 💛

Children’s drawings can be a window into how kids perceive their world!
01/02/2026
Children’s drawings are more than cute art — they’re a fascinating window into how kids see the world. 🎨✨
They can also be a helpful tool for therapists, because many children find it easier to express feelings through images than through words.
But an important reminder:
a drawing alone is NOT proof that something is wrong. Research strongly suggests we should never over-interpret children’s art without proper context.

I’m happy to share new research paper, now published on arXiv:
The paper explores how neural networks can analyze children’s drawings and learn patterns that may reflect emotional or affective states.
Since drawings can be a powerful non-verbal way for children to express feelings, this research supports the idea of using AI for human-centered applications, especially for kids who have communication difficulties.

Comparative Evaluation of Machine Learning Algorithms for Affective State Recognition from Children's Drawings Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) represents a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by difficulties in expressing emotions and communication, particularly during early childhood. Understanding the affective state of children at an early age remains challenging, as conventional assessment methods....

Research shows they can increase engagement and support social interaction in children with ASD.
A fascinating field: Socially Assistive Robotics (SAR).
