On this day, we reaffirm our commitment to defending freedom of expression and supporting those who speak truth to power, often at great personal risk.

SWEDO strengthening Vulnerable Women in the Middle East

SWEDO works with locally rooted civil society partners in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Iraq to support women facing vulnerability due to conflict, displacement, poverty or gender based violence.

We focus on the protection and prevention of gender based and domestic violence, psychosocial support and trauma informed approaches. We promote access to education and vocational pathways, economic empowerment and rights based participation and community leadership.

By combining protection, social inclusion and economic integration, we address both immediate needs and structural barriers affecting women and girls.

We believe in sustainable change driven by local actors, supported by strategic partnerships and accountable funding.
