It's been a while... I've been sewing a lot lately, but haven't woven nor dyed in two years. Yesterday it happened again ! I needed some bright, warm yellow, which I got on cotton (left) and merino wool (right) with a lot of curcuma and a bit of onion peels. The white yarn is the merino wool before the dye, for comparison. Happy with the result ! Soon pics of the weaving.

This is the most incredible and beautiful textile work I've ever seen (and I watch lotus silk videos). The craftmanship is astounding at all steps and the final result is dreamy. Just a bit sad that it's a white woman who gets to wear it in the end and also that we don't know how life goes for the spiders after completing silk-giving duty. Silk is amazing but I'd rather have it cruelty free.

Pretty accurate summary of my life these days. I've not been weaving for months, but sewing quite a lot and especially learning something : PATTERNING. It's hard and it takes absolutely ages, but I do believe in its magical powers of making fitted clothes in the end. Sadly, patterning and its annoying sibling called mockuping are both extremely unflattering in pictures in general - hence the few images posted on this Page lately. I hope to have nice trousers to show in a few weeks though !
