Pattern questions are a PSLE staple — and often one of the topics that separates stronger students from the rest.
Beyond spotting sequences, students need to understand mathematical relationships, identify patterns clearly, and apply the right strategies under exam conditions.
This July, Matrix Math will be conducting a special PSLE Pattern Questions Masterclass to help students tackle pattern questions with greater confidence and accuracy.
🔸 2-Hour Focused Deep Dive:
Students will learn key pattern concepts and commonly tested question types, carefully selected from our analysis of past PSLE papers.
🔸 Guided by an Experienced Educator:
Led by our Programme Manager, Jason Hiak, the session will provide clear explanations, worked examples, and targeted practice on pattern heuristics.
🔸 Live Online Lesson via Zoom:
Students can learn from home while still engaging in real-time during the session.
🔸 Lesson Details:
Run 1: 27 July 2026, Monday
Run 2: 30 July 2026, Thursday
Time: 5.00pm – 7.15pm
*Session may end 5–10 minutes earlier or later.
Fee:
$65 | Non-Matrix Math students
$60 | Matrix Math students

Most students use only 10% of their calculator’s functions.
The triple comma button is one of the most underrated shortcuts on the calculator — and it can instantly convert decimal hours into hours, minutes and seconds.
3.67 hours?
One few clicks later:
3 hours 40 minutes 12 seconds.

Visualisation Challenge
How many cubes can be added to this solid without changing the front view or side view?
This is a common trap in cube visualisation questions.
Students often count only what they can see, but the key is to ask:
“What is the maximum height allowed at each hidden position?”
Answer: 4 cubes
At Matrix Math, we train students to approach visualisation questions systematically, not by guessing from the 3D picture.
