FCC Delivers Relief to Fire-Affected Families in Congo Town

On June 7, 2026, following Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr’s visit to the site of a June 27 fire in Congo Town, the Freetown City Council (FCC) delivered relief items, including food, blankets, and clothing, in partnership with Caritas. The fire, caused by an electrical malfunction, destroyed seven homes and damaged nine others. FCC is dedicated to supporting families as they begin to rebuild.

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has successfully completed the 2026 FIFA Member Association Course for Elite Referees in Bo City, consisting of five days of intensive training aimed at enhancing refereeing standards in the country.

Facilitated by FIFA Refereeing Instructors Ahmed Alie Mohamed and Bento Thomas, the course received praise for the participants' discipline and commitment. SLFA President Babadi Kamara, represented by Joseph Benedict Mogba, emphasized the importance of integrity and professionalism for referees.

SLFA Referees Committee Chairman Patrick Muana congratulated the referees and urged them to implement what they learned, focusing on consistency and respect for the Laws of the Game. The course was supported by local instructors, ensuring its successful delivery.

This initiative reflects the SLFA’s commitment to developing competent referees for both national and international fixtures.
