Through my lens today, the Thanksgiving march of West African Methodist Collegiate School revealed a powerful blend of history, faith, and pride in motion.

It was fun to capture the school colours as they glowed in the afternoon light. Students, staff, band members, alumni and others moved in disciplined formation as the band’s steady rhythms guided the procession through the streets of Freetown.

The march forms a central part of Collegiate School’s (as commonly called) 115th Annual Thanksgiving Celebration, a longstanding tradition that brings together generations of the school's community in celebration, gratitude and reflection.

Founded in 1911 by the Methodist Church, WAM Collegiate School remains one of Sierra Leone’s enduring mission institutions, grounded in Christian values, discipline, and academic excellence.
