Day One concluded with Blue House (Philip Amara House) leading the standings, followed by White House (Dr. Joseph Thorlie House) in second place, Orange House (Junior Borbor Williams House) in third, and Yellow House (Martin J. Certificates were awarded to the champion, first and second runner-up, and to all athletes who secured first, second, and third place in their respective events, honouring both achievement and participation.
Beyond athletics, the sports meet served as a powerful platform for the BEG Community to advance unity, positive behaviour, and the community-wide campaign against drug abuse. The event also encouraged House Owners to continue supporting their athletes through the provision of school supplies, an essential component of the community’s educational mission.

BEG COMMUNITY LAUNCHES ANNUAL BACK-TO-SCHOOL PROGRAM TO SUPPORT CHILDREN
The BEG Community, which unites the Bandset, Edwards and Gun Boat neighborhoods, has staged a Back-to-School program that brought hope and support to children at a crucial moment in their educational journey. The initiative provided essential school supplies to pupils who have excelled in their academic work as well as those whose families struggle to purchase such materials. More than an act of giving, the program was designed to enhance the power of education and to protect children from the lure of drugs and negative influences. For the executives of the BEG Community, this is a paramount agenda that demonstrates their unwavering commitment to promoting education and uplifting the future of the community.
The program was spearheaded by the Executive, led by Mr. Joseph Pessima, whose leadership and vision ensured that well-wishers and supporters were mobilized to make the event a success. The organization expressed heartfelt appreciation to all who stood firmly behind the initiative, acknowledging that their timely and unflinching support turned vision into reality. Among those recognized for their contributions were Inspector Vandi, Irin Kula Suma, ASP Mambu, Pastor Lombi, Alusine Koroma, Nurse Etta, Emmanuel Kamara, Pap Sam Police, Mr. Lenghor, Alfred Senesie, Mr. Luseni Senesie, Mr. Alhaji Michael and Father Moore, whose support directly enabled the successful ex*****on of the event.
Through these efforts, the BEG Community was able to cater to 36 pupils, each of whom received exercise books, a geometry set, pens and a ruler enclosed in a plastic file. The distribution was carried out by executive members alongside senior advisors, and the atmosphere was filled with joy and gratitude from parents who hailed the bold step taken by the leadership. They expressed profound appreciation, acknowledging that the gesture not only eased their financial burden but also reaffirmed the community’s shared responsibility toward education.
Despite the success, the leadership acknowledged the limitations faced due to scarce resources, noting that more children could have benefitted if greater support was available. The executives therefore issued a call to more well-wishers and partners to rally behind the initiative in the future, stressing that collective support will enable the program to reach more pupils and achieve greater impact.
The Chairman of the BEG Community also pleaded with members of the community to give their unwavering support, assuring them that the Back-to-School program will no longer be a one-off event but an annual tradition. With the grace of God and the continued support of committed individuals, he affirmed that this initiative will grow stronger every year. In taking this bold step, the BEG Community has proven that education is not only the greatest tool for development but also a shared legacy that will secure a brighter, safer and more prosperous tomorrow for every child.
